“I’m in love with the ancient craft of cooking and its endless ways to prepare food.” - Chef Julie
Transforming the meal prep experience
Imagine coming home after a long day and a delicious dinner is already in the fridge - all you have to do is stick it in the oven to reheat it.
No prep, no making the kitchen a mess, no more ‘forget it, we’ll just do frozen pizza again’ nights.
What a dream, right?!
Well, Chef Julie Robbert wanted to make that a reality for West Michigan families…and that’s why Lakeside PrepChef exists.
Let’s get to know the woman behind the apron!
After a full career in sales and marketing, Chef Julie decided to pursue a dream and enroll in the GRCC Secchia Institute for Culinary Education. It was here she fell in love with a new journey: the ancient craft of cooking and its endless ways to prepare food.
The Personal Chef program was a perfect direction to allow her to start a small meal preparation business working one-on-one or with small groups of people.
When she’s not in the kitchen testing out a new recipe or hanging out with her husband, she’s taking care of her yard, playing with her cats, exercising, enjoying nature, hanging out with a friend, or visiting residents in a senior community.
Spend time with Chef Julie long enough and you’ll discover she’s really good at making people smile - and it’s this positive energy that infuses all she does - including her first Triathlon at age 42 and her first of 3 Ironman Races at age 47! She loves being on or near the water, making the perfect tennis stroke, and the grit of spinning.
When it comes to delicious food, Chef Julie knows there’s always room for a simple splurge. She’s on the search to find the best version of a perfect cheeseburger, the best pepperoni pizza, the freshest chocolate-covered donut or the most flavorful macaroni & cheese.
Playing hide-and-seek with her newest kitten (he always wins), twirling her spaghetti like her grandmother taught her, and making the perfect cup of hot cocoa are among her very favorite things.
Julie started Lakeside PrepChef and Ju-li-enne Dinner Club as a way to lessen the stress of meal prepping, get families around the dinner table, and unite people in celebration around freshly-made food.
Let’s eat, shall we?
